Liturgical Volunteer opportunities:
Our celebration of the Sunday Eucharist is the source and summit of our Christian life, and the center of our parish community. We would love to have you as part of our team of liturgical volunteers who help to make Mass the place where everyone can encounter the risen Christ Jesus. We provide training and formation for all liturgical roles, everyone is very welcome! To get involved and find out more, please email Marisa March at email@example.com or call on (215) 275-4026.
Altar servers assist the priest at the Holy Mass and thus are an essential part of the Saint Agatha and James Community. We provide initial and ongoing training to our altar servers.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
This is a fulfilling ministry for parishioners who wish to serve their community. It makes few demands on your time beyond a planned attendance at Mass. There will be a brief training session and installation ceremony and occasional refresher sessions. Also, we are currently looking for volunteers to expand this ministry too include the bringing Holy Communion to the sick and homebound.
Training sessions for those interested in being commissioned as lectors are held twice annually. Lectors are scheduled for Masses as needed and receive continuing support from our Lector Coordinators. Contact Adetoun Adeniji-Adele at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Ushers & Greeters
At the Sunday masses, greeters are needed to welcome parishioners and visitors, take up the collection, help coordinate the congregation during the liturgy and clean up after Mass. This ministry is a wonderful way to participate and to get to know the people at the Mass that you attend. To become an usher Sign up here
Music, Vocal and Instrumental
Music ministers lead music at liturgies, enhance congregational singing, and inspire participation and prayer by the use of their vocal and instrumental talents and abilities.
This ministry is for those solo singers who demonstrate an ability to lead the assembly in musical worship. Training, rehearsal and support will be provided as needed.
The specific role of the sacristan includes preparations for the celebration of the Holy Mass, such as placement of linens, chalices, hosts, water and wine. This ministry ensures the good flow and beauty of the liturgy. Sacristans are also responsible for the organization of the liturgical items after the mass.
