BIBLE TIMELINE COURSE
JESUS AND EARLY CHRISTIANITY
Content: The life, miracles and teachings of Jesus; His crucifixion, resurrection and ascension; the Pentecost, the apostles and the rapid spread of Christianity.
Duration: All covered in 7 weekly sessions (January 24 - March 14), one week off for Penn break.
Open to all: Local residents, students, faculty and staff are all welcome.
Format: Each weekly session has reading assignments, a group discussion, and a 45-minute video-lecture by Catholic biblical scholar, Jeff Cavins.
Meeting Time: Tuesdays, 7-9 pm, first session on January 24
Meeting Location: Newman Center, 3720 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104
Requirements: (1) A Bible, (2) Catechism of the Catholic Church, and (3)Bible Timeline study workbook (cost $40).

The Bible Timeline is Catholic Bible Study which gives you the full story of the Bible using a narrative approach. This approach allows you to see the coherent story of salvation. Each weekly session has recommended reading assignments, a group discussion, and a 45-minute, video-lecture by biblical scholar, Jeff Cavins.
For St Agatha - St James parish and its student Newman Ministries, we have divided the Bible Timeline course into three “terms” of 9-11 weeks. The sessions take into account holidays and university breaks. The terms are:
1. From Adam and Eve through Moses (9 sessions, Spring 2016)
2. From Joshua to Jesus (11 sessions, Fall 2016)
3. Jesus and the Early Church (8 sessions, Spring 2017)
