Parish Pastoral Council |
The purpose of the Parish Pastoral Council is to foster full participation of parishioners in the life and mission of the parish and of the larger Catholic Church. In addition to the Pastor and Parochial Vicars, the Council consists of select parish staff and elected and appointed lay parishioners who are representative of the entire parish community. The primary function of the Council is to advise the Pastor on matters pertaining to the mission and activities of the parish. This includes informing the Pastor of the needs and resources of the parish and its members; developing and reviewing a parish mission statement and pastoral plan; recommending policies, procedures and programs which would assist in the implementation of the mission statement and the parish pastoral plan; and reviewing and evaluating the effectiveness of existing programs. All parishioners are encouraged to offer their ideas, suggestions and critiques to the members of the Council.

I graduated from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst in 2001 and from the University of Pennsylvania in 2002. For the past five years, I have been living and working in Philadelphia. Currently, I work as a clinical research analyst in Oncology at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Prior to that, I worked for three years as a research coordinator in a bioengineering lab in the Penn Medical School. In regard to parish activities, I have been a member of the parish council for three years, and I coordinate altar servers at the parish and Eucharistic ministers at the Children's Hospital. It is a pleasure and a privilege to serve in the parish. |
